Tyson McQuay LPC, LMAC

Bio
R. Tyson McQuay is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Master Addiction Counselor (LMAC). He earned his Master’s in Counseling from Mid-America Nazarene University in 2008. Tyson is no stranger to addiction and the havoc it reeks on individuals and families. Tyson has over 15 years of experience in the addiction and criminal justice fields serving diverse clients in various capacities while working diligently to offer hope to those who have been impacted by the web of addiction. He believes that addiction and mental health issues do not have to be a life-sentence. Tyson also believes that within each of us is an innate ability to change and he prides himself on assisting individuals discover that power to help them heal and meet their life goals.

Sarah Barth, MSW, LAC
Clinician and Program Coordinator
Bio
Sarah Barth is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). She has been working as an Addiction Counselor since 2022 and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2024. Sarah is passionate about helping her clients find solutions to overcome their challenges. She uses client-centered and strengths-based approaches in therapy, prioritizing collaboration with her clients to foster hope and encourage positive change.

Delaney Thome MPA

Bio
Delaney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminology from Benedictine College and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. With ten years of experience in the correctional field, she has held various positions, including Senior Case Manager, Cognitive Education Coordinator, and Intensive Supervision Officer. Delaney believes in second chances and the importance of providing individuals with opportunities to rehabilitate within the community. Her greatest passions include educating employers about the benefits of hiring individuals with criminal histories and working with clients through motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy. This approach helps clients identify their strengths, accept responsibility for their past behaviors, and distinguish between responsible and irresponsible thinking.

Debra Maxey LSCSW, LCAC
Clinician and Batterer’s Intervention Specialist
Bio
Debra M. Maxey is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC). She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Washburn University in 2010. Debra serves as the Batterers Intervention Program Director and a Clinical Addiction Counselor. She has over 12 years of experience in different settings with diverse clients. She has experience working with individuals struggling with domestic violence, parenting, relationships, stress, conflict management, anger, depression, addictions, and shame as crisis intervention. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered, and she utilizes the therapeutic modalities that best fit the individual to include cognitive behavioral, psychoeducational and family systems. In addition to her counseling experience, she spent 6 years in the United States Navy and retired from the Kansas Army National Guard in 2016. Debra believes that change happens when people are empowered and given guidance on how to draw on their own strengths to overcome obstacles in order to move forward. She also believes that mental health illnesses, addictions and behavior go hand in hand. She understands that helping people identify, work through change the underlying causes of the issues in their life is important to create healthy change and a solid base to continue successfully into their future.

Allie Emmons LCP, LMAC

Bio
Allie Emmons is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Master’s Addiction Counselor (LMAC) in the state of Kansas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Avila University.
Before joining A Connecting Pointe, Allie served as the Regional Director at Mirror Inc. and was the treatment provider for the Drug Court and Behavioral Health Court in Wyandotte County. She also has experience in private practice, where she worked with clients aged 10 and older, addressing a range of mental health and substance use disorders.
Allie is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), among other treatment modalities. However, her therapeutic approach is specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of each client.

Kayte Keller LPC, LMAC

Bio
Kayte is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Master’s Addiction Counselor. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2022. Originally from Missouri, she has lived on both coasts before returning to the Midwest.
Kayte’s professional experience includes working in high-level care facilities for eating disorders and substance use disorders, as well as in private practice. Her areas of expertise are addiction and trauma, particularly complex trauma. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and often incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychoeducation into her practice.
Kayte considers it the greatest honor of her life to walk alongside those she works with on their healing journeys.
